Physical security is broadly classified into two categories outside premises and inside premises of physical equipment for creating an barrier for any threat. Some of these physical equipment can be connected to access control system for providingaccess. Integration with Access control systems S helps to identify unauthorized access
Depending upon risk level of premises and region physical security equipment’s are selected accordingly
Main purpose of physical security barriers is to prevent and delay any attacks. Every physical security products
available and discussed in coming slide have different application an usage, depending upon usage pattern and
expected security level same can be suggested and configuration can be selected.

Boom Barriers & Crash Rated Boom Barrier
Boom Barrier is a bar/pole pivoted to allow the boom to block vehicular access. Depending upon security level boom
barriers are mainly classified into 2 categories
– Non Crash Rated Boom barrier
– Crash Rated Boom Barrier
Boom barriers are generally found in a toll plaza, parking entry exit and restricted entry location
Operation point of view boom barrier can be operated using push button, remote, RFID Tags or Readers and loop
detectors.
According to operation mechanism of boom barrier its mainly classified into.
1. Automatic Boom Barrier
2. Pneumatic Boom Barrier
3. Electromechanical Boom Barrier
Boom barrier selected according to expected traffic and number of lanes to be operated.
Boom barriers boom length 3 meter to 10 meter can be selected according to space
Availability. Boom barrier should be IP rated for outdoor operation with 100% duty cycle
Tyre Killer
Tyre killer is used at entry of premises as an physical barrier, it interlocks with Boom Barrier for operation, mostly available from 3 meters to 6 meters and covers complete lane .
Tyre killer drive mechanisms of spike barrier is consist of suitable size reversible motors Oil filled and sealed composite gear drive unit with internal locking feature circuit controller for Auto Off in fully raised & lowered position with limit switches and manual operation in case of power failure.
PCB Electronic Circuit is used to automatically switch off motor in case of fault.
It is mostly used for withstanding 10-25 ton vehicle load.
Used for 100% duty cycle with opening and closing time > 2 sec. Tyre killer structure is available in hump type or flat type.
Axle breaker is used at entry of premises as an physical barrier, it interlocks with Boom Barrier for operation, mostlyavailable from 3 meters to 6 meters and covers complete lane .
Axle breaker Hydraulic Drive Mechanisms with internal locking feature circuit controller for Auto Off in raised &
lowered position with limit switches and manual Operation in case of power failure.

Road blocker provides highest level of security and mainly used where complete lane protection is required.
Road blocker also comes in K4,K8 and K12 ratings. Movement mechanism of blocker is hydraulic and can be operated
manually in case of power failure and also using remote control and push button.
Road blocker operation can be integrated with License plate recognition and also with an Card based reader for
access.
As an part of access it is also integrated with an traffic lights and boom barrier.

in fully raised & lowered position with limit switches and manual operation
